The CD-Rom “Le meraviglie del Rinascimento” (the Wonders of the Renaissance) contains detailed and spectacular virtual reconstructions of monuments, building machines and fortresses of the period, created with the most advanced 3D animation techniques and under the supervision of history scholars. The reconstructions cover the most important building types and city places of the Italian Renaissance: the piazza, the city palace, the cathedral and the fortress. There are three-dimensional reproductions of masterpieces
As the dome of the Duomo in Florence, the Tempio Malatestiano in Rimini, the Rocca of Sasso di Montefeltro or the house that Mantegna designed as his own residence. Some very effective 3D animations explain the rules of perspective and the harmony of proportions. The work is completed by a number of texts about the most influential artists of the Renaissance with biographies from Le Vite de’ più eccellenti pittori, scultori e architettori by Giorgio Vasari (1568).
